Distance education in Brazil: An integrative review

The present study aims to raise and discuss the academic production in several areas of knowledge about the Distance Education (DE) in Brazil. The method utilized was the integrative review. The search tool was the journal portal “Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES)”, specifically on the icon “search subject”. The descriptions were: “distance education”; “teaching”; “epistemology”; “pedagogy” and “university”. The inclusion criteria stablished were the time lapse between 2015 and 2020, articles available in whole and in Portuguese and the exclusion criteria repeated articles, theses, books, previous notes and summaries. As results, it were found 22 articles, being 6 of them selected for analysis. It as possible to build four categories: focus on professor, curricular perspective, distance teaching ambience scenario, DE aspects. It was concluded that the instructor formation is an important subject regarding DE, since the professor need to identify how the learning process should be guided and to observe each student’s specifies.
